Exo_terra_habitat_kit

Each month, starting from June, we will be giving you the chance to win a new fantastic prize.

Everybody who has signed up to receive this blog will automatically be entered into each months competition. Just enter your email address in the box opposite, easy!

June’s prize is the excellent ‘Tropical Rainforest Habitat Kit’ from Exo-Terra worth at least £149.99.

We use this kit to keep many of our own animals happy in our shop. At 45 x 45 x 60 cm (18″ x 18″ x 24) it’s large enough to house many species of tree frogs, arboreal spiders and we also use them for crested geckos.

You get included with the Exo Terra Glass Terrarium a Compact Top, Hygromometer, Thermometer, Rock Background, Water Dish Medium, Plantation Soil, Jungle Plant Croton, Jungle Plant Amapallo, Jungle Vine Small, Jungle Vine Large, Jungle Fern Large and an Instruction Manual.

No lighting or food? Don’t worry, if you win just let us know what animal you plan on keeping and we’ll sort that out for you too. Free, of course.

We’ll draw the winner at the end of June and let you all know who won!

  25. Michelle Hollins May 20, 2009 at 8:31 pm #

Wow, what a fantastic prize!! My daughter has been pestering me for a pet for the last 4 years, but as we are both allergic to dogs and cats (well, anything with fur) she had decided on a snake. However, my boyfriend has a phobia of snakes, so we compromised on a lizard. Since then though, money has been quite scarce, so we have not been able to afford all the equipment. Ah, I really hope I win – she’ll be over the moon!!!

What an amazing way to start your collection. FANTASTIC. Could you also add a list of what types of pets this would be suitable for, i.e size of pets etc.

    • Gary May 29, 2009 at 12:46 pm #

      Hi Shaun
Climbing animals that do not require an intense heat are perfect for this set up. That’s why we use them for crested geckos and tree frogs. Did you have something else in mind?

  36. micky May 30, 2009 at 2:31 pm #

I saw this oppertunity in ‘Practical Reptile Keeping’. I have two Bearded Dragons and now looking to purchase a Yemen Chameleon, but on abit of a budget when it comes to a nice terrarium! Will be dropping by soon to have a look around as now live very close to northampton.

    • Gary June 15, 2009 at 10:58 am #

Hi Kieran, come down anytime and we’ll show you how we keep our breeding adults

  49. Kieran June 15, 2009 at 1:08 pm #

Thanks Gary, i will be down in the week to have a look. Do you have many Chameleon babies in stock?

    • Gary June 15, 2009 at 1:59 pm #

No problem, we have sold all of our babies now but have just bought some that will be with us tomorrow. We have loads of eggs in the incubator but they take 6-8 months to hatch!
