If you take pride in breeding and raising quality captive bred reptiles, we need to talk to you.

We breed a lot of reptiles here at Northampton Reptile Centre and have done for many years, but did you know we also source many of our reptiles from local breeders like yourself? This has always worked very well for us, and is one of the reasons we have managed to offer high quality rather pets, than mass produced or farmed reptiles.

This year however, has been phenomenally busy meaning we have already sold many of our babies, and our breeder’s babies too!

We’re looking for additional breeders to work with us to supply only the highest quality reptiles, amphibians, tortoises, turtles and spiders to our reptile community. We will only work with the best, so does the following sound like you?

I give my breeding reptiles the best environmental care, husbandry and diet.

I do not breed from related animals.

I do not breed from unhealthy or deformed animals.

I raise my babies for a minimum of 6 weeks before rehoming.

If you think we can work together, and you can supply us with quality baby animals, get in touch. Fill in the form below, or call us on 01604 753823.

After a tricky 6 months of getting the breeding strategy right, our breeders have finally cracked it and calciworms are now back in stock.

Calciworms are the larvae of the black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens). As larvae they store high levels of calcium for future pupation as they change into adult flies. As well as being high in calcium, they are also high in fat and protein making them an extremely rich and nutritious diet.

Most insectivores absolutely love them, so why not give them a try next time you order your livefood?

Who Won?

1. Egantribe

We found our Slider in a stream. Since then we have learned a lot about turtles and been fascinated by each new behaviour. Balancing upright on one hind leg with just the tip of her nose above the water to breathe, looking as if she is doing ballet. Basking with both back legs up in the air and one front leg, quite still, drying off. Biting through carrot tops. Paddling furiously when she thinks crickets are on the menu.

2. Kevindenning

I love turtles because they are extrodernairy animals which might evolve 1 day to teenage mutant ninja turtles. they are very beautiful swimmers and just fascinating to watch could sit and watch them for days on end.

3. Alexandros

I love my turtle because he is bubbly and energetic. I can watch him for hours and it’s so relaxing to see such a wonderful, beautiful animal who ironically is very graceful and so peaceful ( except when provided with food!! ). They’ve been around for thousands of years and love their prehistoric feel. They’re truly such interesting creatures!

4. Michael Coker

i love turtles and terrapins as they are:

5. Nikita K5813

I can honestly say I wasn’t into Terrapins or turtle’s until 2days ago when I took on 5 rescue Terrapins, there were 6 but ome sadly died from the awful conditions they were kept in. BUt after personally rescuing these I am truely amazed by them. THey are wonderful. ANd I hope I get to rescue more in the future. BEautiful

6. Michael

I love my turtles because they are so cute and always look like there smiling and when there swimming around they look like superheroes flying through the air ready to fight crime ! .. or eat in their case haha

Well done to all the winners, you will have already been contacted and your turtle and terrapins goodies are on the way!!

Have a read of our company 16 points of culture below, do they feel like something you could be a part of?

1. Commitment …

I give myself and everything I commit to 100% until I succeed. I am committed to the Vision, Mission, Culture and success of Northampton Reptile Centre/ Realm Of Reptiles, its current and future team, and its clients at all times. I always recommend products and services of Northampton Reptile Centre/ Realm Of Reptiles prior to going outside the company.

2. Ownership …

I am truly responsible for my actions and outcomes and own everything that takes place in my work and my life. I am accountable for my results and I know that for things to change, first I must change.

3. Integrity …

I always speak the truth. What I promise is what I deliver. I only ever make agreements with myself and others that I am willing and intend to keep. I communicate potential broken agreements at the first opportunity and I clear up all broken agreements immediately.

4. Excellence …

Good enough isn’t. I always deliver products and services of exceptional quality that add value to all involved for the long term. I look for ways to do more with less and stay on a path of constant and never ending improvement and innovation.

5. Communication …

I speak positively of my fellow team members, my clients and Northampton Reptile Centre/ Realm Of Reptiles in both public and private. I speak with good purpose using empowering and positive conversation. I never use or listen to sarcasm or gossip. I acknowledge what is being said as true for the speaker at that moment and I take responsibility for responses to my communication. I greet and farewell people using their name. I always apologise for any upsets first and then look for a solution. I only ever discuss concerns in private with the person involved.

6. Success …

I totally focus my thoughts, energy and attention on the successful outcome of whatever I am doing. I am willing to win and allow others to win: Win/Win. At all times, I display my inner pride, prosperity, competence and personal confidence. I am a successful person.

7. Education …

I learn from mistakes, both my own and others. I am approachable and open; I feel I can always ask questions and I am pleased to pass on knowledge to my colleagues and clients. I impart practical and useful knowledge rather than just theory. I am an educator and, subject to ethical considerations, I enable my clients to make their own choices and informed decisions.

8. Team Work …

I am a team player and lead where I have superior expertise. Team cohesion is priority. I work toward team achievement rather than my own individual achievement. I focus on co-operation and always aim to resolve problems and issues rather than compromising them. I am flexible in my work and able to change if what I’m doing is not working. I ask for help when I need it and I am compassionate to others who ask me.

9. Balance …

I have a balanced approach to life, remembering that my spiritual, social, physical and family aspects are just as important as my financial and intellectual. I complete my work and my most important tasks first, so I can have quality time to myself, with my family and also to renew.

10. Fun …

Fun in our interactions is healthy and life giving. In a business context, it is beneficial. It engenders teamwork, good will, productivity, and cohesive workable relationships.

11. Systems …

I always look to systems for a solution. If a challenge arises, I use a system correction before I look for a people correction. I innovate through a system solutions rather than people solutions. I follow the system exactly until it is superceded. I suggest system improvements at the first opportunity..

12. Consistency …

The benefit of consistency is assurance. I am consistent in my actions so my clients, team mates and stakeholders can invariably feel comfortable in dealing with me. I am disciplined in my work so my results, growth and success are consistent.

13. Gratitude …

I am a genuinely gracious person. I say ‘thank you’ and show appreciation, often and in many ways, so that those around me know how much I appreciate everything and everyone in my life. I celebrate my wins and the wins of my team, my clients, and other stakeholders. I consistently acclaim myself and other people doing things right.

14. Win-win …

For interactions and transactions, I use the win-win strategy, where each party emerges feeling good. This delivers bonding, goodwill and delivers the highest rate of long term success, both socially and commercially.

15. Profit awareness …

I am profit aware. The actions I take are of commercial value and make business sense in the context of the company. I understand that both my employment and the resources I use are costs the company and that my actions must bring a certain level of profit above them.

16.Abundance …

I am an abundant person, I deserve my abundance and I am easily able to both give and receive it. I allow abundance in all areas of my life by respecting my own self worth and that of all others. I am rewarded to the level that I create abundance for others and I accept that abundance only shows up in my life to the level at which I show up.

How convenient is that if you can’t get to your local reptile centre?

In fact, it’s not just mice, we can also deliver to you frozen rats, frozen guinea pigs, frozen hamsters, frozen gerbils, frozen chicks, frozen quails and even frozen aquatic food for your turtles and terrapins!

How can we guarantee it will arrive frozen?

Even on the warmest days our food arrives at your door frozen, we just follow a few simple steps to ensure this happens.

Your order will be packed late in the day to ensure as little time out of the freezer as possible.

Your food is packed in dry ice for the journey to keep very cold.

Your food is packed in an insulated box to protect it from external temperatures.

Your food is delivered the next morning (before noon) before the dry ice expires.

The result: fresh, frozen food conveniently delivered to your door, and fully guaranteed to be frozen.

Note: I should also mention, that all of our frozen foods are ethically sourced. All rodents are specifically bred for reptile food in very clean and healthy conditions. Our chicks are males that are not required by the egg industry and would otherwise be wasted.
