Xaxim is obtained from tree fern. Under optimal climate conditions and watering this dark material can show new plant growth on its surface. It is also an excellent soil for plants like bromeliads and tillandsias. This makes Xaxim an excellent addition for tropical terrariums to increase the attractiveness. Xaxim panels can be glued with silicone and are excellent for use as background or substrate. There are panels available which are cut straight on all sides or have an uneven front (Natural).
