Our First Baby Leachie Geckos Have Just Hatched

by Gary Rolfe on in Lizards

Reaching 14″ (360mm) in length leachie geckos, the New Caledonian Giant Gecko (Rhacodactylus leachianus), is the largest gecko species in the world.

Our adult pair of leachie geckos Brutus and Nero (pictured below), laid their first 2 eggs for us around 80 days ago and now they’ve just hatched!

The baby leachie geckos are already a few inches in length and are super cute!

They’ll be staying with us until they are 12 weeks old and then they’ll be ready to ready to find a new home.

The substrate they are on is a humus substrate that we used to incubate the eggs on.

More good leachie gecko news…

There’s another 4 eggs still incubating!

When these guys are available to purchase, they will appear on our animal list online. In the mean time, if you have any questions about them, please feel free to give us a call on 01604 753823 or email us at sales@reptilecentre.com.
