Here at the Northampton Reptile Centre, we know that feeding large snakes and other reptiles requires reliable, high quality frozen food that delivers the essential nutrients they need. That's why we've worked with trusted suppliers to bring you frozen rabbits that meet our standards for quality, welfare and nutritional value.
Frozen rabbits are specifically suited to larger reptiles, particularly large snakes such as boas and pythons, that require a bigger prey item at feeding time. But also good for lizards, turtles, tortoises and amphibians. Rabbit meat is rich in protein and provides a healthy, nutrient-dense meal that supports your animal's health across all stages of growth. Available in multiple variants to suit different species and body weight, it's easy to find the right size for your animal.
Our rabbits are farm bred and raised in ethical conditions, humanely slaughtered and flash frozen shortly after to lock in their nutritional value. Each order is packed into individually sealed packs, placed in an insulated box with dry ice, and dispatched on a next day delivery service to ensure everything arrives frozen and in good condition. Once delivered, store straight in your freezer until needed, then thaw fully before feeding.
Every frozen food delivery is backed by our full guarantee. If you have any questions about sizing or quantity, feel free to contact us.
Frozen rabbits make excellent snake food for larger species that need a more substantial prey item; think large pythons, boas and similar reptiles. Because of their size and weight, they're not typically used for medium or small snakes.
It depends on the size and weight of your snake. As a general guide, the prey item should be roughly the same width as the widest part of your snake's body. We stock a range of sizes to suit large snakes at different growth stages, so you can find the most suitable option for your animal at any given time.
Thaw in the fridge overnight or at room temperature for several hours, depending on the size of the rabbit. Due to their larger body mass, frozen rabbits will take longer to defrost than smaller prey items, so it's worth planning ahead. Never use hot water or a microwave, and feed promptly once fully thawed. Do not refreeze.
Yes, and it's a straightforward way to keep your freezer well stocked so feeding your large snakes is as easy and reliable as possible. Simply choose your preferred size and quantity at checkout and we'll take care of the rest.
