Why is it important to monitor your temperatures

Reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates are ectothermic (commonly called cold-blooded), which means they rely on outside sources of heat to regulate body temperature. When keeping these animals, we use Ceramic bulbs, Basking Bulbs, and heat mats to provide this heat. It is recommended that these are controlled by thermostats, and these thermometers work hand in hand with them to make sure the enclosure is at the correct temperature.
