Haworthia sp. - Large
Haworthias, known as zebra cacti, pearls, star windows, and cushion aloes, make up a significant genus of compact, gradually expanding succulents. These plants resemble miniature aloe plants with clusters of green, fleshy leaves adorned with abundant white, pearly knobs or stripes.
Commonly kept as indoor plants, they require bright light but not all-day full sun, preferring temperatures between 70 to 95°F. Haworthia thrives in sandy, well-draining, neutral soil that provides adequate summer moisture and relatively drier winter conditions.
Haworthia plants prefer bright light, but not harsh direct sunlight. They are perfect for small indoor pots and can be placed outside during the summer.
This species requires a well-draining sandy or gravelly soil, making a cactus potting mix or other fast-draining soil ideal for potted plants. Adding perlite, aquarium gravel, or pumice to the soil can further enhance drainage for optimal growth.
