The Moses-in-the-cradle (Rhoeo discolor) is a beautiful terrarium plant that thrives in bright light and high humidity to keep its vivid colours.

It prefers soil that stays evenly moist but well-drained, avoiding constant wetness, with occasional drying allowed but best kept minimal. Growing up to 30cm tall, it gradually forms dense clusters with new shoots emerging from the base, making it a striking focal point. Exercise caution when placing it with large or herbivorous animals, as its sap can irritate and may be toxic if ingested in large amounts.
