Honduran Milk Snake Care Sheet

Natural History

The honduran milk snake is one of the larger species of milk snake reachin 5-6ft on average. They can be found in tropical regions of Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. As with other milk snakes they are best known for their 3 coloured stripe pattern. This runs red with bands of black and yellow/white. A commonly bred morph of this snake would be the 'tangerine phase' which has bold orange bands in place of the yellow bands.

The colour on this snake is an attempt to convince potential predators that it is venemous. Though this species carries no venom it does look remarkably similar to the very venemous coral snake.
