About Mantis

Mantis are a range of invertebrates often kept by enthusiasts. Due to the massive range of mantis available and how easy they are to care for, they are becoming a popular exotic pet. Many people will start with a larger, hardier mantis like the Giant African or Asian species, then branch out to slightly more difficult species like the orchid mantis. The large species tend to be slower-moving and slightly easier to manoeuvre or handle, so can often be a good introduction to mantis care. more exotic species, while feistier and faster, are generally much more active and colourful. They have a weekly diet of live foods such as crickets and require fresh water. They inhabit many regions throughout the world, so the temperature, humidity and general layout of a mantis enclosure will vary depending on the species. Most mantis inhabit a glass enclosure with wooden decoration and a soil or bark-based substrate. It's easy to provide the perfect environment at home for a mantis.
