Sedge Grass 'Evergold' (Carex hachijoensis)

Description

This plant likes bright light but is best kept away from direct heat. Avoid placing in an area that is too dry or wet, this makes it ideal for the damper areas of arid setups where a microclimate of higher humidity is required. Provides great cover for Tortoises and other arid species.

A diminutive and perennial grass, providing a dense mound of attractive dark green blades accented by a prominent streak of creamy yellow. In late spring, it displays brown flower spikes atop tall stalks. For optimal visual impact, pair with other ornamental grasses boasting contrasting foliage. Proper management includes sifting through foliage in the winter and removing dead leaves, as well as trimming any excess growth during the summer.
