Small/Medium Rats as Snake Food

PLT frozen rats are a main part of the diet of pet snakes, birds of prey, and some amphibians. PLT has been our reptile stores' sole supplier of frozen rats for 30 years and are the ones we highly recommend to our customers. PLT frozen rats are ethically bred and euthanised humanely before being packed into secure, clear plastic packaging.

These Small/Medium 130g+ are the perfect size for sub-adult boas and pythons. In our stores, we use these Small/Mediums to feed all of the sub-adult boas and pythons.

Packaging

This product arrives in a box with dry ice packs to keep the items frozen during transit. The dry ice packs have been specifically made for the transport of frozen food. The CO2 from the dry ice provides a secondary benefit of ensuring your box of food is kept free from pest insects during delivery.

In warmer months, there may be more dry ice packets placed into the box to ensure that they still arrive frozen.

Feeding Guide

• Thaw thoroughly at room temperature before feeding

• Remove any uneaten food to keep the enclosure clean and prevent mould or decay

• Do not refreeze

Storage Instructions

Keep these items in the freezer and only defrost what is needed. Keep sealed within the freezer to avoid freezer burn. Looking after your frozen food helps ensure your snake or other pet gets the best nutrition possible.

We know how important it is to have a reliable frozen food service. That’s why we ship frozen food five days a week, Monday to Friday (Friday only when ordered before noon with a Saturday delivery option, excluding bank holidays) using fast, trusted couriers.

For your peace of mind, we have implemented the Frozen Arrival Guarantee. If your frozen food doesn’t arrive in the best condition, get in touch with our team, and we’ll resolve it for you.

We believe in being upfront about our delivery costs.

Delivery cost is calculated at the checkout and is dependent upon your basket contents and postcode.

We group products together so you get a reduced price.

When you checkout the total delivery price is shown.

Orders over £79 qualify for FREE delivery.

Dispatch Information

Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays.

Orders placed before 12pm will be dispatched that day

Orders placed after 12pm are not guaranteed to be dispatched that day.

Frozen food will not be dispatched on a Friday unless Saturday delivery is specified.

Dispatch emails & tracking information are sent throughout the day.

Who Will Deliver My Order?

Depending on the weight/ size of your order and your postcode, you will be presented with appropriate delivery options at the checkout.

Please note that deliveries to a flat or apartment will be made to the access point or lobby; the courier may not be able to carry the items to your door. Pallet deliveries are always curbside.

APC

Mainland UK - next-day courier with pre-12pm or pre-4pm delivery services (excluding some Scottish postal codes).

Saturday - aims to delivery before 12pm Saturday to mainland UK if the order is placed before 12pm Friday(excluding some Scottish postal codes).

DX

Mainland UK - next day courier with pre-1pm or pre-6pm delivery services (excludes some Scottish postal codes).

Saturday - delivers Saturday to mainland UK if order placed before 12pm Friday (excluding some Scottish postal codes).

Kings/ Tuffnell's

Some heavy items may need to be moved from your selected delivery service to a palletised delivery service with a delivery time of 1-2 working days.

Offshore/ Remote UK Delivery:

Orders via Royal Mail are unaffected. Orders that need to be delivered via a courier may (but not always) incur additional delivery charges if you live in one of the following post codes; AB30-56, IV, HS, KA27-28, KW, PA20-49, PA60-78, PH17-26, PH30-50, ZE, IM, BT & TR21-25.
