Raindrop Peperomia (Peperomia polybotrya 'Raindrop')
The renowned Raindrop Peperomia (Peperomia polybotrya 'Raindrop') earns its moniker from its leaf shape, which mimics the gentle falling of raindrops. The vibrant green leaves bring a splash of colour to any space, and their robust stems easily hold up the large foliage.
Hailing from the tropical regions of South America, this plant flourishes in warm, humid conditions and requires bright indirect light to maintain its striking glossy foliage.
The Raindrop Peperomia (Peperomia polybotrya 'Raindrop') thrives in well-draining soil to ensure proper ventilation. A pot with drainage holes should be used to allow excess water to drain. Watering should only be done when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch, as overwatering can lead to root rot.
This plant will perform best in a humid environment and can tolerate the average household humidity level, but it should be kept away from drafts, air conditioning vents, and direct sources of heat. While misting is acceptable, avoid getting water on the leaves to prevent potential fungal diseases.
