Our Morio worms make up part of the main livefood diet for many reptiles and amphibians.
They are easy to catch, highly nutritious, but high in fat, so we recommend them as a treat for your reptile once or twice a week. They are dispatched directly from the breeder and will be gut-loaded before packing to make sure that they are as nutritious as possible on arrival.
Morio worms are very large, so they are the perfect size for baby reptiles, small amphibians, fish, and many insectivorous invertebrates (e.g., mantis and tarantulas). In the store, we use the Morio Worms to feed all of our bearded dragons and skinks as a treat.
We guarantee freshness or your money back.
They are farm-bred in ethical conditions.
They are pre-fed to ensure your reptile is getting a healthy and nutritious meal.
Delivered straight to your door in good time.
This product arrives in a ventilated plastic tub. Small air holes along the sides provide airflow while keeping the worms safely contained.
In warmer months, the outer cardboard box may have extra perforations for cooling. In colder months, we may include a plain white heat pack to help maintain a suitable temperature during transit.
We recommend feeding your Morio worms right up until they are fed to your reptile, to ensure they are as nutritious as possible.
Offer fresh leafy greens, carrots, squash, or sweet potatoes; these provide hydration and essential nutrients.
You can also use specialist insect foods or gut-loading diets to boost their nutritional value for your reptile.
Remove any uneaten food daily to keep the enclosure clean and prevent mould or decay.
Well-fed worms make for excellent food and are far more beneficial, helping support your reptile’s health and digestion. For more information on their diet, please consult our livefood care sheet. If you’re looking for other types of reptile food, we also stock frozen, animal-specific, vegetation, and supplement options.
We recommend Morio worms for the following animal types:
Blue Tongue Skinks
Adult Bearded Dragons
Monitor Lizards
Keep Morio worms at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or draughts. Add fresh food at regular intervals to keep them healthy and active.
Avoid overcrowding by providing size-appropriate housing with plenty of hiding spots and space to burrow.
Looking after your live food properly helps ensure your lizard or other pet gets the best nutrition possible.

Yes, they're higher in protein than standard mealworms and make excellent feeders for large lizards and other reptiles, and are also enjoyed by mammals, birds, and exotic pets like arachnids and fish.
Keep them in a ventilated tub with bran and a slice of carrot or apple. For longer storage, place them in a dark, cool place to slow development and avoid damp areas to prevent mould and bacteria. We advise against refrigeration as this could reduce their lifespan.
Yes, Morio worms are an excellent treat for reptiles from tropical regions like Central and South America. Species such as Blue Tongue Skinks and Monitor Lizards benefit from the protein boost they provide when fed in the right quantity.
Absolutely. Morio worms complement other feeder insects like mealworms or super giant mealworms. Just keep feeding varied and balanced - Morio worms are high in fat and protein, so offer them up once or twice a week as part of a mixed diet.
Feeding quantity depends on your reptile’s species, size, and activity level. Larger reptiles like bearded dragons or monitors may eat several per feeding, while smaller species should be fed fewer. Always balance with other feeder insects for variety and nutritional value.
There is no difference, Morio worms and superworms are two names for the same insect - the larvae of darkling beetles (Zophobas morio). They're larger than standard mealworms, slower moving, and ideal for feeding reptiles and amphibians that prefer bulkier prey.
Our live Morio worms are of good quality, freshly packed, gut-loaded, and part of a trusted range used daily in our own Reptile Centre.
