Jungle Bedding is a special substrate mixture with sand which was specifically formulated for tropical terrariums. High quality materials and well considered formulation ensure a high structural stability and excellent water storage abillities. Even dried out substrate will quickly take up water again. The pH value (approx. 5.5 - 6.5) is simulating the leaf-humus layers of the tropical rainforest. Neither surfactants nor fertilizers have been added.
We recommend the use of Lucky Reptile Hydro Drain and Hydro Fleece as drainage layer below the Lucky Reptile Jungle Bedding, to prevent the substrate from getting swampy, a typical problem in tropical terrariums.

Bio-Life is a mixture of high quality ingredients which are blended to produce a substrate with the ideal properties for growing plants in a jungle setting.
It will provide adequate nutrients while retaining an open structure to promote healthy root growth and provide a habitat for woodlice, springtails, bacteria and fungi. Bio-active substrates are not designed to be used and replaced in the traditional manner, but rather be allowed to develop into a living ecosystem where waste materials are naturally broken down. They are spot cleaned if necessary and can be partially changed, but complete changes are to be discouraged as they destroy the developing populations of microorganisms.

Cultivated in the UK in a sustainable controlled environment.
Having been cultivated and not sourced from wild locations (like most commercially available mosses) means no debris is found within the moss. Also the risk of transferring dangerous fungi and bacteria from natural populations of amphibians, reptiles or insects is virtually eliminated.
If kept in a well-lit, damp environment this moss will continue to thrive and grow with a vibrant green colour.
Alternatively it can be used as a safe medium in a moss box to help aid reptile shedding, egg laying and thermo-regulation.
